Meet the Artist
Mason Winchell
Hi, I’m Mason, the artist behind Mösmar. I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, and the Pacific Northwest has shaped both who I am and how I create. Growing up here, surrounded by water, forests, and shifting skies, taught me to appreciate the beauty in change and the unexpected. That same influence shows up in my work with glass.
I work with glass because it’s never easy, and that’s exactly what makes it worth doing. Glass is unpredictable; it pushes back, it demands patience, and it refuses shortcuts. One small change in heat or timing can transform the whole piece. That challenge is what inspires me. Every time I step into the studio, I know I’ll walk away having learned something new.
For me, creating with glass isn’t about perfection, it’s about discovery. The process is alive, and every piece carries a little bit of that unpredictability with it. Some works feel calm and simple, others more bold and experimental, but all of them hold a story shaped by fire, time, and persistence.
Mösmar is my way of sharing those stories. Whether it’s a personal piece, a custom project, or something built just for the joy of making, I want each work to feel connected to the person who holds it. Glass has a way of catching light and sparking curiosity, and I hope my work does the same.
I also take on collaborative work, with other artists, with businesses, with anyone who has something interesting going on. Some of my favorite pieces have come out of ideas that pushed me somewhere new. If you've got a project that might involve glass in some way, I'd like to hear about it.
